Call to Order and Invocation

The Metropolitan Council met in adjourned session on this date at 6:30 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse.

The invocation was offered by Council Member Brenda Haywood.

Pledge of Allegiance

​The Metropolitan Council gave the pledge of allegiance to the American Flag.

Approval of Minutes

Elections and Confirmations

Arts Commission

Reappointment of Ms. Jane Alvis for a term expiring on January 1, 2023.
Appointment of Mr. William T. Cheek, III for term expiring on January 1, 2023.
Appointment of Ms. Matia Powell for a term expiring on January 1, 2023.

The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointments and reappointment. Council Member Lee moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Board of Health

Appointment of Ms. Tene Hamilton Franklin for a term expiring on July 9, 2019.
Ms. Franklin will fill the unexpired term of Ms. Francisca Guzman.

The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Council Member Lee moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Historic Zoning Commission

Appointment of Ms. Leigh Fitts for a term expiring on June 1, 2022.
Ms. Fitts will fill the unexpired term of Mr. Eric Brown.

The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment. Council Member Lee moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Solid Waste Region Board

Appointment of Ms. Damita Beck-Taylor for a term expiring on December 15, 2024.
Reappointment of Mr. Robert Diehl for a term expiring on December 31, 2024.
Reappointment of Ms. Dinah Turner for a term expiring on December 15, 2024.

The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the appointment of Ms. Damita Beck-Taylor and reappointment of Mr. Robert Diehl. Council Member Lee moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council. Council Member Lee moved to defer the confirmation of Ms. Dinah Turner, which motion was seconded and approved by a voice vote of the Council.

Stormwater Management Committee

Reappointment of Ms. Ronette Adams-Taylor for a term expiring on February 8, 2023.

The Rules, Confirmations, and Public Elections Committee recommended the reappointment. Council Member Lee moved for confirmation, which motion was seconded and adopted by a unanimous vote of the Council.

Bill BL2018-1357

An ordinance to amend Title 17 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws, the Zoning Ordinance of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by cancelling a Planned Unit Development Overlay District on property located at 3419 Murphy Road, approximately 100 feet west of West End Avenue (1.47 acres), all of which is described herein (Proposal No. 2001P-005-001).

The bill was approved by the Planning Commission subject to adoption of BL2018-1358. Council Member Kindall moved to defer the bill to the February 5, 2019 public hearing, which motion was seconded and approved by a voice vote of the Council.
