An ordinance authorizing the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to purchase certain property from the State of Tennessee located at 88 Hermitage Avenue (Map/Parcel No. 09311024100) (Proposal No. 2018M-012PR-001).
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County desires to purchase certain property (“Property”) owned by the State of Tennessee (“State”) located at 88 Hermitage Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee 37210 (Map/Parcel No. 09311024100) for a price not to exceed Eleven Million Three Hundred Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($11,300,000.00); and,
WHEREAS, the appraised value of the Property is Eleven Million Eight Hundred Fifty Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($11,850,000.00); and,
WHEREAS, the Tennessee Historical Commission has determined the Property may be eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places; and,
WHEREAS, upon purchase of the Property, it is the intent of Nashville Metropolitan Public Schools, for whom the Property is being purchased by the Metropolitan Government on behalf of, to create a new high school; and,
WHEREAS, the purchase of this Property is in the best interest of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to execute and record such documents as may be necessary to carry out the purchase of the Property.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
