An ordinance approving and authorizing the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation to execute a license agreement with Global Music Rights, relating to the use of musical compositions in the Global Music Rights repertory at Metropolitan Government facilities.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the license agreement (the “Agreement”) attached to this ordinance as Exhibit A, Global Music Rights (“GMR”) proposes to grant to the Metropolitan Government a non-exclusive license to allow the public performance at Metropolitan Government facilities of certain musical compositions in the GMR repertory; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the Agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and GMR.
SECTION 2. That any further amendments to the Agreement shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least twenty-one affirmative votes.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
