Bill BL2018-1335

An ordinance approving an agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, and Airborne Public Safety Association, Inc., for accreditation of MNPD’s aviation unit.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, desires to enter into an agreement with Airborne Public Safety Association, Inc., for APSA to review the policies, procedures, and practices of MNPD’s aviation program, and for the accreditation of MNPD’s aviation unit; and,

WHEREAS, the agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

Section 1: The agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, and Airborne Public Safety Association, Inc., a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That any amendments to this agreement shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty one affirmative votes.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
