Bill BL2019-1638

An ordinance approving an amended partnership agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of the Mayor, and the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund, Inc., pertaining to support of Financial Empowerment Centers.

WHEREAS, Ordinance BL2018-1198 approved a Partnership Agreement between Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund, Inc. (“CFE Fund”) and the Metropolitan Government to support two of CFE Fund’s Financial Empowerment Center grantee partners (“the 2018 Agreement”); and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government and the CFE Fund desire to modify the 2018 Agreement by adding two CFE Fund partners (Roanoke, VA and Atlanta, GA), adding an amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars in funds, extending the deadline to complete services to February 28, 2020, and permitting remaining funds to be used by the Metropolitan Government toward Financial Empowerment Center activities; and,

WHEREAS, the CFE Fund and the Metropolitan Government have agreed upon the terms of the amended Partnership Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the amended Partnership Agreement be approved.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the amended Partnership Agreement between the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund, Inc., and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That any further amendments to the Partnership Agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least twenty-one (21) affirmative votes.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
