Bill BL2018-1412

An ordinance authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to abandon existing water and sanitary sewer mains, a sanitary sewer manhole and easements and to accept new water and sanitary sewer mains, sanitary sewer manholes, fire hydrants and easements, for six properties located on South 6th Street and South 7th Street (MWS Project Nos. 18-WL-100 and 18 SL-114 and Proposal No. 2018M-065ES-001).

WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 421 linear feet of existing six inch water main, approximately 572 linear feet of existing eight inch sanitary sewer main, a sanitary sewer manhole and easements, and the acceptance of approximately 390 linear feet of new eight inch water main (DIP), approximately 42 linear feet of new 12 inch water main (DIP), approximately 673 linear feet of new eight inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 155 linear feet of new eight inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), 10 sanitary sewer manholes, three fire hydrants and any associated easements, for six properties located on South 6th Street and South 7th Street, are needed to construct project numbers 18-WL-100 and 18-SL-114; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2018M 065ES-001 on October 15, 2018, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water and sanitary sewer mains, sanitary sewer manholes, fire hydrants and easements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 421 linear feet of existing six inch water main, approximately 572 linear feet of existing eight inch sanitary sewer main, a sanitary sewer manhole and easements and to accept approximately 390 linear feet of new eight inch water main (DIP), approximately 42 linear feet of new 12 inch water main (DIP), approximately 673 linear feet of new eight inch sanitary sewer main (DIP), approximately 155 linear feet of new eight inch sanitary sewer main (PVC), 10 sanitary sewer manholes, three fire hydrants and any associated easements, for six properties located on South 6th Street and South 7th Street, as shown on Exhibits 1 and 2, which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this ordinance.

Section 3. Amendments to this legislation shall be approved by resolution.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
