Resolution RS2018-1411
A resolution confirming the appointment of five members to the Blue Ribbon Commission to identify government inefficiencies, practices, transfer payments, third party payments and subsidies with the targeted goal of achieving budgetary cost savings of $20 million in annual savings.
WHEREAS, Substitute Ordinance No. BL2018-1184, as amended, being the operating budget for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for Fiscal Year 2018-2019, established a Blue Ribbon Commission to identify government inefficiencies, practices, transfer payments, third party payments and subsidies with the targeted goal of achieving budgetary cost savings of $20 million in annual savings; and
WHEREAS, the Blue Ribbon Commission is to consist of five members appointed by the mayor, and confirmed by the Council, each with a relevant area of expertise, such as benefits, contracting, insurance, accounting, asset management and general management; and
WHEREAS, Mayor David Briley has appointed the Davidson County residents identified in Section 1 of this Resolution to the Blue Ribbon Commission, and requests confirmation of said members by the Metropolitan Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The following duly qualified Davidson County residents are hereby confirmed as members of the Blue Ribbon Commission in accordance with Substitute Ordinance No. BL2018-1184, as amended:

Mr. Brad Rayson
Ms. Emily Evans
Mr. David Goetz
Ms. Gracie Porter
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
