A Resolution thanking healthcare workers and recognizing their efforts to combat COVID-19.
WHEREAS, COVID-19 has spread across the world over the past few months, killing thousands of people and infecting hundreds of thousands; and
WHEREAS, communities across the United States, including Nashville, have implemented stay at home orders, closing nonessential businesses and limiting the activities that citizens may engage in; and
WHEREAS, healthcare workers are on the front lines of this pandemic, caring for those who have been infected as well as working to keep those with other healthcare needs safe from the virus; and
WHEREAS, these individuals truly are heroes of this pandemic and are often underrecognized for their work; and
WHEREAS, these healthcare workers tirelessly work around the clock to take care of patients, leaving their own families and loved ones to care for the families of others; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the tremendous contribution that healthcare workers are making to fight COVID-10.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as thanking healthcare workers and recognizing their efforts to combat COVID-19.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
