A resolution approving an option to purchase a parcel of real property in Bells Bend for use in the Metropolitan Government’s park and greenway system (Proposal No. 2019M-018PR-001).
WHEREAS, Thomas Bros. Grass, LLC, (“Thomas”) owns an approximately 106.8-acre parcel of property (Metro Parcel ID No. 10200000500; the “Property”) in Bells Bend; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the agreement (the “Lease”) attached as Exhibit 1, Buy Sod USA, LLC, (“Buy Sod”) leases the Property from Thomas and has an option to purchase the Property for the sum of $1,602,000; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the document (the “Option”) attached as Exhibit 2, Thomas and Buy Sod have agreed that Buy Sod will convey its right to purchase the Property to the Metropolitan Government for the sum of $150,000; and,
WHEREAS, because of its location and characteristics, acquisition of the Property would benefit the residents of Davidson County as a part of the Metropolitan Government’s park and greenway system; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Option is approved, and the Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to receive, execute, and record such documents as may be necessary to carry out the purchase of the Property.
Section 2. The Director of Public Property Administration or his designee is further authorized to execute such other documents as are customary and necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution.
