Resolution RS2018-1045

A resolution approving Amendment One to a grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) services targeted toward the elderly, disabled, veterans, and households with children under the age of six years.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, for LIHEAP services targeted toward the elderly, disabled, veterans, and households with children under the age of six years approved by RS2017-792; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $310,925.00 from $5,394,833.00 to $5,705,758.00, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved and that the funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the Tennessee Housing Development Agency and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, for Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) services targeted toward the elderly, disabled, veterans, and households with children under the age of six years, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
