Resolution RS2018-1376

A resolution recognizing Markus Pannock upon earning the Eagle Scout Award.

WHEREAS, Mr. Markus Pannock is a member of Boy Scout Troop 92, sponsored by Woodmont Christian Church; and

WHEREAS, Troop 92 has produced a number of remarkable Eagle Scouts over the years; and

WHEREAS, on Sunday, August 19, 2018, the Eagle Scout Award was presented to Mr. Pannock, recognizing his hard work and completion of his Eagle Scout service project; and

WHEREAS, Eagle Scout rank is the highest advancement rank in Scouting, requiring each candidate to fulfill numerous vigorous requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills; and

WHEREAS, before earning Eagle Scout rank, each scout must complete an Eagle Scout service project; and

WHEREAS, in addition to providing service and fulfilling the part of the Scout Oath, “To help other people at all times”, one of the primary purposes of the Eagle Scout service project is to learn leadership skills; and

WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout service project, Markus Pannock lead the concept, design and construction of a community bulletin board located in the Mary Catherine Strobel Park at the corner of Carden Avenue and Rolland Road; and

WHEREAS, Markus Pannock organized a team of fellow scouts to assist with construction and implementation of the bulletin board project, and together, the team spent a total of 64 hours on the Eagle Scout service project; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Pannock was also responsible for identifying a project budget, and compiling the materials and tools necessary to complete the bulletin board project; and

WHEREAS, the free-standing, weather-resistant bulletin board is a great addition to the community and shares important information about the Whitland Area Neighborhood Association, as well as events and information of interest to the neighborhood community; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize and congratulate Mr. Markus Pannock on earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and thank him for his service to his community.


Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Markus Pannock for completing his Eagle Scout service project and earning the Eagle Scout Award.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Markus Pannock.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
