Resolution RS2020-524

A resolution approving an application for a Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs grant from the U. S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in conjunction with the Native American Indian Association to provide a new structure to house a Circle of Life Cultural Center with administrative offices, exhibit space, and a cultural heritage museum. 

WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, is accepting applications for a Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs grant with an award of $1,422,400.00 and a required cash match of $443,600.00; and,

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in conjunction with the Native American Indian Association is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs grant application of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in conjunction with the Native American Indian Association with an award of $1,422,400.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Office of the Mayor is authorized to submit said application to the U. S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development administration.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
