A resolution confirming the appointment of the members of the Tax Increment Financing Study and Formulating Committee, established per Ordinance No. BL2018-1315.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. BL2018-1315, adopted September 18, 2018 by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, established a Tax Increment Financing Study and Formulating Committee; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the establishing ordinance, the Study and Formulating Committee (the “Committee”) will endeavor to study how the Metropolitan Government utilizes tax increment financing and to formulate recommendations for its implementation in a more transparent, equitable, effective and understandable manner; and
WHEREAS, as further established under Ordinance No. BL2018-1315, the Committee shall consist of seven (7) persons to be approved by the Metropolitan Council by resolution -- with two (2) members being nominated by the chief executive officer of the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency; two (2) members being nominated by Mayor David Briley; and three (3) members being appointed by election of the Metropolitan Council; and
WHEREAS, on October 16, 2018, pursuant to its elections and confirmations process, the Metropolitan Council confirmed the appointments of Mr. Brian Kelsey, Ms. Talia Lomax-O’dneal, Mr. Charles Robert Bone and Mr. Bert Mathews; and further elected Dr. Paulette Coleman, Councilman At-Large Bob Mendes, and Mr. Richard Warren to the Committee.
WHEREAS, accordingly, these seven (7) persons are identified in Section 1 of this resolution for formal approval by the Metropolitan Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The following duly qualified Davidson County residents are hereby approved as members of the Tax Increment Financing Study and Formulating Committee in accordance with Ordinance No. BL2018-1315: Charles Robert Bone, Dr. Paulette Coleman, Brian Kelsey, Talia Lomax-O’dneal, Bert Mathews, Councilmember Bob Mendes, and Richard F. Warren.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
