Resolution RS2019-1731

A resolution accepting a grant from PFM Group Consulting LLC to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of the Mayor, to provide technical assistance to counties seeking to reduce or eliminate their reliance on fines and fees collected by or through the criminal justice system while assessing the revenue and cost impact of the current system.

WHEREAS, PFM Group Consulting LLC, acting by and through the PFM Center for Justice and Safety Finance, has awarded an in-kind grant to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of the Mayor, to provide technical assistance to counties seeking to reduce or eliminate their reliance on fines and fees collected by or through the criminal justice system while assessing the revenue and cost impact of the current system; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the PFM Group Consulting LLC to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of the Mayor, to provide technical assistance to counties in seeking to reduce or eliminate their reliance on fines and fees collected by or through the criminal justice system while assessing the revenue and cost impact of the current system, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
