Resolution RS2020-149

A resolution appropriating for the benefit of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in the amount of Five Hundred Eighty-Seven Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($587,900) in the General Fund of the General Services District.

WHEREAS, the Davidson County Sheriff can house up to 100 federal prisoners under the Intergovernmental Services Agreement with the US Marshall authorized by Ordinance O96-596, as amended by Ordinance O97-958, whereby the revenue generated will exceed the additional costs by an estimated Five Hundred Sixteen Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($516,200), and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council desires to appropriate the amount of Five Hundred Eighty-Seven Nine Hundred Dollars ($587,900) for the benefit of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office from the General Fund of the General Services District for the purpose of housing additional federal prisoners.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That the following amount from the General Fund of the General Services District is hereby appropriated:

Account Description Sheriff - Salaries and Benefits

Total $587,900

Section 2: That the appropriation in Section 1 is funded from the following source:

Revenue Account [on file in Metro Clerk's office]

Account Description Sheriff - US Marshall Reimbursement

Total $1,104,100

Section 3: that this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
