Resolution RS2018-1058

A resolution approving an application for a Socket to Litter Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville General Services Department, to propose a multi-faceted solution to on-going litter issues due to the heavy use and lack of waste containers at the Commons at the Crossings.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, is accepting applications for a Socket to Litter Grant with an award of $40,100.00 with no cash match required; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for a Socket to Litter Grant, with an award of $40,100.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville General Services Department is authorized to submit said grant application to the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
