Resolution RS2018-1261

A resolution approving an affiliation agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Department/Homelessness Commission, and Lipscomb University to provide the opportunity for students enrolled in Lipscomb University’s Department of Social Work and Sociology to experience training, instruction, and education in the discipline.

WHEREAS, it is to the mutual benefit of Lipscomb University and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Department/Homelessness Commission, to provide the opportunity for students enrolled in Lipscomb University’s Department of Social Work and Sociology to experience training, instruction, and education in the discipline; and,

WHEREAS, Lipscomb University and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Department/Homelessness Commission, have entered into an affiliation agreement, attached hereto and incorporated herein, to provide the opportunity for students enrolled in Lipscomb University’s Department of Social Work and Sociology to experience training, instruction, and education in the discipline; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this affiliation agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the affiliation agreement between Lipscomb University and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Department/Homelessness Commission, to provide the opportunity for students enrolled in Lipscomb University’s Department of Social Work and Sociology to experience training, instruction, and education in the discipline, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
