Resolution RS2019-57

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the State Trial Courts to provide the Tennessee Certified Recovery Court Program (TCRCP) to enable the establishment of adult and juvenile drug court programs to address the needs of non-violent offenders.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, to provide the Tennessee Certified Recovery Court Program (TCRCP) for the State Trial Courts to enable the establishment of adult and juvenile drug court programs to address the needs of non-violent offenders approved by RS2019-1778; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $50,000.00 for a new total of $500,000.00 with no cash match required, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the State Trial Courts to provide the Tennessee Certified Recovery Court Program (TCRCP) to enable the establishment of adult and juvenile drug court programs to address the needs of non-violent offenders, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
