A resolution accepting a grant from Flow, Inc., d/b/a Coord (“Coord”) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“Metro”) for access to technology tools to enable Metro to conduct a smart loading zone pilot program.
WHEREAS, Metro desires to improve the coordination, safety, compliance and convenience of commercial loading zones within Metro’s downtown area; and,
WHEREAS, Metro desires to conduct a pilot study of technology tools that communicate loading zone locations, availability and rules to commercial drivers to determine if such technology would be beneficial for the delivery companies, the businesses receiving deliveries, and the public’s use of the rights-of-ways in the downtown area; and,
WHEREAS, Metro desires to further develop loading zone regulations and fees; and,
WHEREAS, Coord desires to get feedback and program performance information to refine and optimize smart loading zone program performance, and further desires to assist Metro by offering Metro an in-kind grant by allowing Metro to use its technology tools and technical support at no charge during a smart loading zone pilot program (the “Pilot Program”); and,
WHEREAS, the Pilot Program will regulate the development and use of Smart Loading Zones in designated areas of Metro, whereby drivers of designated vehicles will use the Smart Loading Zones by accessing the Coord Driver App, and Coord and Metro will collaborate to provide feedback and an evaluation of the Pilot Program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the in-kind grant by Coord to Metro, to allow Metro to use Coord’s technology tools and technical support at no charge, in order to enable Metro to conduct a smart loading zone pilot program, a copy of which Coord Smart Loading Zone Grant/Pilot Agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
