Resolution RS2018-1323

A resolution approving Amendment One to the parking agreement between the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Traffic and Parking Commission (“Metro”), and 511 Union Nashville, LLC (“511”), for the use of up to one hundred (100) parking spaces for a fee in the Library Parking Garage (Proposal No. 2015M-019PR-002).

WHEREAS, BL2015-1294 approved a parking agreement between Metro and 511 wherein 511 leased up to one hundred (100) parking space from Metro within the Library Parking Garage, located at 151 Sixth Avenue, for the purpose of parking passenger automobiles and/or light trucks; and,

WHEREAS, the Parking Agreement expires September 30, 2027; and,

WHEREAS, Metro and 511 wish to extend the term of the Parking Agreement until December 31, 2030 because the additional term will enable 511 to provide long term parking for prospective tenants interested in the building; and,

WHEREAS, Amendment 1 to the Parking Agreement extends the term of the agreement through December 31, 2030; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to execute the Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the Parking Agreement between the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Traffic and Parking Commission, and 511 Union Nashville, LLC, for the use of up to one hundred (100) parking spaces for a fee in the Library Parking Garage, attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. Future amendments to the Parking Agreement shall be approved by resolution.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
