Resolution RS2018-1027

A resolution approving an application for a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Parks and Recreation Department, to continue the 440 Greenway from Oman Street at Park Plaza to the 28th Avenue Connector at Centennial Park.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, is accepting applications for a Transportation Alternatives Program Grant with an award of $510,943.68 and a required cash match of $127,735.92 to continue the 440 Greenway from Oman Street at Park Plaza to the 28th Avenue Connector at Centennial Park; and,

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application for a Transportation Alternatives Program Grant, with a maximum award of $510,943.68, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Parks and Recreation Department is authorized to submit said grant application to the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
