Resolution RS2018-1355

A resolution approving an application for a Waste Reduction Grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Public Works Department, to purchase trucks for Nashville’s curbside recycling expansion.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, is accepting applications for a Waste Reduction Grant with an award of $500,000.00 and a required cash match of $500,000.00 to purchase trucks for Nashville’s curbside recycling expansion; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Public Works Department is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Public Works Department, for a Waste Reduction Grant, to purchase trucks for Nashville’s curbside recycling expansion, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Public Works Department is authorized to submit said grant application to the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
