Resolution RS2020-364

A resolution approving amendment one to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Administrative Office of the Courts, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to improve courtroom security and provide a safe and secure facility in which to conduct business and the duties of the court.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davison County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Administrative Office of the Courts, to improve courtroom security and provide a safe and secure facility in which to conduct business and the duties of the court approved by RS2018-1518; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to allocate $52,396.58 from the original grant award of $104,069.99 for key card door security systems and to extend the end date of the grant term to June 19, 2020, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Administrative Office of the Courts, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to improve courtroom security and provide a safe and secure facility in which to conduct business and the duties of the court, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
