Resolution RS2020-482

A resolution approving an application for an Our Town grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Arts Commission, to create a series of temporary and permanent public art works that will increase public safety, provide much needed employment opportunities and job training, and will be co-designed by the North Nashville neighborhood community.

WHEREAS, the National Endowment for the Arts is accepting applications for an Our Town grant, with an award of $150,000.00 with a required cash match of $150,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission, for an Our Town Grant, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission is authorized to submit said application to the National Endowment for the Arts.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
