Resolution RS2018-1193

A resolution approving Amendment One to the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, to create a Pre-Trial Risk Assessment Coordinator position to oversee implementation of an evidence-based pre-trial risk assessment program.

WHEREAS, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to create a Pre-Trial Risk Assessment Coordinator position to oversee implementation of an evidence-based pre-trial risk assessment program approved by RS2016-351; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement by deleting Attachment A-1 in its entirety and replacing with a new Attachment A-1, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment one to the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, to create a Pre-Trial Risk Assessment Coordinator position to oversee implementation of an evidence-based pre-trial risk assessment program, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
