Resolution RS2019-1622

A resolution approving a grant from the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to provide Pre-Kindergarten services to advance high quality early education practices as key levers for early student success and literacy attainment.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is entering into a contract and awarding a grant in an amount not to exceed $348,000.00 with no cash match required to the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to provide Pre-Kindergarten services to advance high quality early education practices as key levers for early student success and literacy attainment; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant contract by and between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, in an amount not to exceed $348,000.00, to the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to provide Pre-Kindergarten services to advance high quality early education practices as key levers for early student success and literacy attainment, a copy of which grant contract is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
