Resolution RS2018-1447

A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Mayor to make an application for a loan from the State of Tennessee to fund the projects listed herein.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee has a Clean Water State Revolving Fund Program and a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program (collectively, the “SRF Loan Program”) to assist local governments to fund all or part of their clean water and safe drinking water project costs; and,

WHEREAS, it is for the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that a SRF Loan Program application be made to the state to support the costs of clean water and safe drinking water projects within the county.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor, or his designee, is authorized to make application for and to execute all necessary documents to apply for a SRF Loan Program loan to fund the following eligible clean water and safe drinking water projects:

Section 2. That the Department of Water and Sewerage Services is hereby authorized and directed to take all necessary steps to enable participation in the SRF Loan Program application process, it being the intent of the Council that this Resolution be liberally construed to effectuate its purpose.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
