Notice of Public Hearings

Speaking at a Public Hearing

Members of the public may address the entire Council body only at a scheduled public hearing. Public Hearings on zoning matters are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Other public hearings for non-zoning matters may be held as part of regular Council meetings throughout the year.

Public Hearing Procedure

The Vice Mayor will open the public hearing for a particular legislative item and ask for a show of hands of those in favor and those opposed to the legislation. Citizens will have 3 minutes to speak, and must identify themselves by name and home address before addressing the Council. An individual may address the Council only once for each particular piece of legislation. Individuals are encouraged not to repeat what has been said by previous speakers.

Distribution of Written Material to the Council

If a member of the public would like to provide the Metropolitan Council members with written material regarding an issue, he/she must provide forty-one copies of the document to the Metropolitan Council Office not later than 4:30 p.m. on the day of the Council Meeting. The Council Office is located in Suite 204 on the second floor of the Historic Metropolitan Courthouse at the opposite end of the Council Chamber. The written material must be signed by the individual requesting distribution and have the name and address of the individual providing the material.

Notice of Zoning Amendment Proposals

Notice is hereby given that public hearings on the following proposed amendments to the Zoning Code or Official Zoning Map of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at 6:30 pm in the Metropolitan Courthouse.

BILL NO. BL2014-806 Changing from RS5 to SP zoning for property at 1209 Montgomery Avenue, approximately 290 feet north of Richardson Avenue (0.18 acres), to permit up to two single-family dwelling units on separate lots.

BILL NO. BL2015-1053 Amending Chapters 17.37 and 17.40 to update the Downtown Code (DTC) standards.

BILL NO. BL2015-1064 Amending 17.08.030 to allow detached accessory dwellings as a use permitted with conditions in the CL zoning district.

BILL NO. BL2015-1076 Changing from SP to RM20-A zoning for property at 1223 North 6th Street, at the southeast corner of North 6th Street and Douglas Avenue (0.20 acres).

BILL NO. BL2015-1077 Amending a portion of the Larchwood Planned Unit Development Overlay District for property at 3411 Percy Priest Drive and a portion of property at Blackwood Drive (unnumbered), approximately 1,254 feet west of Stewarts Ferry Pike (8.47 acres), zoned CL, to permit additional storage capacity to an existing boat storage facility.

BILL NO. BL2015-1078 Changing from R6 to SP zoning for properties at 1700, 1702, 1706, 1710 and 1712 6th Avenue North, at the northeast corner of 6th Avenue North and Garfield Street, (1.01 acres), to permit up to 20 multifamily dwelling units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1079 Changing from R15 to CS zoning for property on a portion of parcel at 7415 Charlotte Pike, on the south side of Charlotte Pike and west of Old Hickory Boulevard (0.59 acres).

BILL NO. BL2015-1080 Changing from R6 to SP zoning for property at 1056 2nd Avenue South, approximately 280 feet north of Mildred Shute Avenue (0.34 acres), to permit up to 10 residential units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1081 Changing from IG to MUL for property at 306 B and 500 Cowan Street and by changing from IG to MUG-A for property at 306, 402, 411 Cowan Street and Cowan Street unnumbered, at the northwest corner of Cowan Street and Spring Street (22.66 acres).

BILL NO. BL2015-1082 Changing from R8 to SP zoning for property at 606 and 608 Croley Drive, approximately 250 feet north of Ivy Street (2.33 acres), to permit up to 22 units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1083 Changing from R15 to RS15 zoning for various properties along Percy Warner Boulevard, Edwin Warner Drive, Saint Henry Drive, Vaughns Gap Road, Vaughns Gap Court, Percy Drive, Park Lane, Highland Park Drive and Neuhoff Lane, west of Highway 100 (approximately 117 acres).

BILL NO. BL2015-1084 Changing from R6 to SP zoning for properties at 1712 Carvell Avenue and 524 Wedgewood Avenue, at the southeast corner of Carvell Avenue and Wedgewood Avenue (0.69 acres), to permit up to eight residential dwelling units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1085 Changing from AR2a to SP zoning for property at 13153, 13159, and 13167 Old Hickory Boulevard, approximately 640 feet south of Muci Drive, (18.74 acres), to permit up to 244 residential units and mixed use development.

BILL NO. BL2015-1086 Changing from MUL to SP zoning for property at Old Harding Pike (unnumbered), 7386 Old Harding Pike and Bellevue Road (unnumbered), at the corner of Bellevue Road and Old Harding Pike, (5.4 acres), and within the Bellevue Town Center Urban Design Overlay, to permit up to 67 detached residential units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1087 Cancelling the Bellevue Town Center Urban Design Overlay, for property at Old Harding Pike (unnumbered), 7386 Old Harding Pike, and Bellevue Road (unnumbered), at the corner of Bellevue Road and Old Harding Pike zoned MUL (5.53 acres), approved for a mixed-use development including 61,850 square feet of retail/restaurant/office/residential uses.

BILL NO. BL2015-1088 Changing from MUG-A and ORI to SP zoning for property at 2305 and 2311 Elliston Place, approximately 250 feet north of 24th Avenue North (1.3 acres), to permit a mixed use building with up to 320 residential.

BILL NO. BL2015-1089 Changing from CN to SP zoning for property at 1500 and 1504 Robinson Road and Merritt Street (unnumbered), at the southeast corner of Merritt Street and Robinson Road (1.23 acres), to permit a 4,522 square foot automobile convenience.

BILL NO. BL2015-1090 Changing from RS5 to SP zoning for property at 1901 Meridian Street, approximately 170 feet south of East Trinity Lane, (0.48 acres), to permit up to 8 residential units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1091 Changing from RS10 to SP zoning for property at 94 Thompson Lane, approximately 391 feet west of Hartford Drive (0.46 acres) to permit General Office.

BILL NO. BL2015-1092 Changing from R6 to SP for property at 1727 and 1729 14th Avenue South, at the northwest corner of 14th Avenue South and Wedgewood Avenue (0.25 acres), to permit four residential units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1093 Changing from R6 to SP zoning for properties at 821, 827, 829, and 831 Porter Road, Porter Road (unnumbered), 2109 Tillman Lane, 809 Powers Avenue, and Powers Avenue (unnumbered), north of Tillman Lane between Porter Road and Powers Avenue, (2.2 acres), to permit up to 54 stacked flats and 9 detached residential units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1094 Changing from OG and RM40 to SP zoning for property at 109 and 123 Bosley Springs Road, approximately 530 feet west of Harding Pike and within the Harding Town Center Urban Design Overlay District (13.12 acres), to permit a mixed use development.

BILL NO. BL2015-1095 Changing from R6 to SP zoning for properties on part of 1709 Pearl Street and at 423, 425 and 427 Fisk Street, at the southeast and southwest corners of Fisk Street and Pearl Street, (0.95 acres), to permit up to 50 residential units within two buildings.

BILL NO. BL2015-1096 Changing from RS5 to SP zoning for property at 121 Lucile Street, approximately 440 feet east of Dickerson Pike (1.42 acres), to permit up to eighteen detached residential dwelling units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1097 Changing from RS7.5 to SP zoning for property at 1132 Tulip Grove Road, 400 feet south of Tulip Grove Point (8.86 acres), to permit up to 49 detached residential dwelling units.

BILL NO. BL2015-1098 Amending 17.08 and 17.16 pertaining to “Community Education” siting and to allow Community Education as a permitted use in the CN, SCN, IWD, IR and IG zoning districts.

BILL NO. BL2015-1099 Amending Title 17 pertaining to sex clubs.

BILL NO. BL2015-1100 Amend 17.40.730 to modify the general requirements of public notice signs and to delete Section 17.40.710 pertaining to notice by newspaper in its entirety.

BILL NO. BL2015-1101 Changing from AR2a and RS40 to SP zoning for properties at 441 Union Bridge Road, Natchez Trace Parkway (unnumbered), Haselton Road (unnumbered), and Pasquo Road (unnumbered), south of Highway 100 (133.15 acres), to permit a mixed use development.
