Man Indicted on Charges of Vehicular Homicide by Recklessness for February 2-Vehicle Collision

Daniel Strong, 55, is named in a grand jury indictment charging him with vehicular homicide by recklessness for the February 28th two-vehicle crash on I-65 South at Rosa Parks Boulevard that claimed the life of Frank Haney, 65.

Haney was the front seat passenger in a Chevrolet Blazer driven by Wanda Linder, 63. She was traveling southbound on I-65 when her vehicle was struck by Strong’s Nissan Altima. According to witnesses, just before the collision, Strong was driving in an erratic manner. He was reportedly swerving on the roadway when he suddenly veered right, striking Linder’s SUV causing it to roll over. Linder and Haney were both transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where Linder was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Haney later died from his injuries in March.

Strong initially fled on foot from the scene but was quickly taken into custody. At the time of his indictment, he was in jail on unrelated charges.
