Juvenile Crime Task Force Officers Recover Stolen Car and Guns
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Investigation by Juvenile Crime Task Force officers led to Thursday’s recovery of a stolen Nissan Sentra and the seizure of three guns, one of them stolen last month from an unlocked vehicle on Pillow Street.
Officers located the Sentra, which had been stolen overnight Wednesday from an apartment complex at 501 Ben Allen Road, parked outside the Fallbrook Apartments on Dellway Villa Road. Convicted felon Latrelle Cox, 25, and a 14-year-old male were taken into custody. The teen was in possession of two handguns, including the stolen firearm. Officers recovered a handgun from the back seat of the Sentra after they saw Cox place it there.
Cox, who has a prior robbery conviction, is charged with felon in possession of a gun. He is free on $5,000 bond. The 14-year-old is charged in Juvenile Court with two counts of unlawful gun possession.
