Two-vehicle Collision on Old Hickory Boulevard Claims Nashville Man
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The man killed in Saturday’s 2:15 p.m. two-vehicle crash on Old Hickory Boulevard at Logistics Way is identified as Robert Weaver, 36, of Nashville.
The preliminary investigation shows that Weaver was driving his 2009 Honda Fit southbound on Old Hickory Boulevard during a rainstorm when he began to hydroplane and crossed over into oncoming traffic where he collided with the driver of a northbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, Frankie Rhone, 57. Weaver, who was not wearing his seatbelt, died at the scene. Rhone was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Rhone was wearing his seatbelt.
There was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene. The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be excessive speed for road and weather conditions on the part of Weaver.
