Investigation Continues into the October 3rd Two-Vehicle Collision on I-40 That Claimed Patrick Holz



The investigation into the October 3 two-vehicle collision on I-40 East at exit 210C that fatally injured Patrick Holz, 24, continues.

Holz was driving his 1999 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on I-40 when he was struck from behind by the driver of a 2018 Ford Explorer, Austin Griffith, 24. The Jeep rolled over and Holz was thrown from the vehicle. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died Wednesday.

Griffith, of Mt. Juliet, was transported to Saint Thomas Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Fatal crash investigators are working with the District Attorney’s Office to determine whether charges will be placed against her.
