Nashville Nurse Fatally Shot Thursday Night on I-440

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating Thursday night’s fatal shooting of a 26-year-old Nashville nurse as she traveled on I-440 west between the Hillsboro Pike & West End Avenue exits in her gray Mazda CX-5 SUV.

A Metro Parks officer saw the Mazda on the right shoulder of I-440 against the guard rail and stopped at 8:52 p.m., believing it was a single-car crash. He then discovered that bullets had been fired into the SUV. The victim died at the scene.

Anyone traveling on I-440 Thursday night during the 8 p.m. hour who may have seen something out of the ordinary is asked to contact 615-742-7463.

A team of investigators led by Detective Chris Dickerson is working now to develop leads.
