Man Charged with 1st Degree Murder for fatal Stabbing of Herbert Chatman



Thurman Bell Jr., 57, is in custody for the March 1st fatal stabbing of Herbert Chatman, 53, outside Chatman’s residence at 824 17th Avenue North.

Bell was booked into the Metro Jail on Friday on an indictment charging him with 1st degree murder. According to witnesses, the pair were engaged in a verbal argument prior to the stabbing.

The investigation was led by North Precinct Detective Charles Duke.

Bell, of Revels Drive, is being held in Metro jail on $250,000 bond.
