David Lamont Jordan Fatally Shot on Pappus Court Late Wednesday

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating Wednesday’s 11:10 p.m. fatal shooting of David Lamont Jordan, 40, outside of his Pappus Court residence.

Jordan was returning home when he reportedly had to honk at the driver of a black Toyota Camry or Corolla who was blocking his driveway. After the driver of the Toyota moved, Jordan parked in his driveway. When he and his female passenger got out of the car, the driver of the Toyota also got out of his vehicle and asked about who lived at Jordan’s residence. Jordan’s female passenger went inside the house while Jordan remained in the driveway. A short time later, she heard gunshots. Jordan ran inside the home and collapsed. He died at the scene.

The suspected gunman is described as a black man in his mid-30s.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Detectives do not believe that this shooting is related to Wednesday’s 11:50 p.m. homicide on Dover Glen Drive. Anyone with information about Jordan’s murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
