4th Annual Shoney's 5K Family Fun Run is Another Success; Event Benefits MNPD

Several hundred persons turned out at LP Field Saturday morning, June 2nd, to make the 4th Annual Shoney’s 5k Family Fun Run and Festival yet another success. All proceeds from the event, which were matched by Shoney’s CEO David Davoudpour, go to the Nashville Police Support Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

After the Fun Run, Davoudpour presented Chief Steve Anderson with a check in the amount of $20,000.

“David’s untiring commitment to the city of Nashville and his support of the men and women of our police department are truly inspiring,” Chief Anderson said. “David’s vision and energy are why this event has been a success each and every year.”

The Nashville Police Support Fund was created to provide higher education opportunities and advanced training programs for Metro officers.

Families attending the event had the opportunity to see a variety of police equipment close up, including a helicopter, SWAT armored vehicle, Bomb Squad Command Vehicle, police motorcycles and horses.
