Man Arrested for DUI After Crashing Range Rover into House
April 26, 2013
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Matthew Ryan Shaw is facing charges of DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia after he ran a stop sign and crashed his 2004 Range Rover into the front of a home at 3524 Country Way Road this afternoon.
Shaw, 30, of Hewlett Drive, performed poorly on field sobriety tasks and refused to submit to a blood test. He claimed to be taking prescription medication, although Officer Jeb Johnston found a syringe on the driver’s seat and a bag on the floorboard that contained a burnt spoon, cotton balls and another syringe. Those are items commonly linked to heroin use.
Shaw was not injured. Fortunately, no one was inside the house at the time of impact.
Shaw’s bond is set at $3,500.
