Officer Nicholas Kulp Named Middle Tennessee's Police Officer of the Year
July 22, 2013
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
East Precinct Officer Nicholas Kulp has been named Middle Tennessee’s 2013 Police Officer of the Year by the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP). Kulp received the award Friday night in Kingsport at the TACP’s annual conference.
Kulp, 27, joined the Metro Police Department just three years ago, but has already been involved in several major arrests, including his heroic apprehension of a 19-year-old murder suspect just minutes after the fatal shots were fired. His work has also been directly responsible for the apprehension of robbery suspects in several cases.
“Nick is an outstanding, modest individual who is very much dedicated to the safety of families in East Nashville,” Chief Steve Anderson said. “This award from the TACP is very well deserved.”
While building a record of outstanding police work, Officer Kulp is attending law school during his off time.
