Community's Assistance Sought in Identifying Hit & Run Driver

Fatal crash investigators are asking members of the community to come forward with any information related to the hit and run driver who last Saturday morning struck and killed pedestrian Jayson Hazley on Briley Parkway.
Hazley was hit at 4:50 a.m. as he and a friend walked from Hazley’s Walton Lane apartment to the friend’s Dickerson Pike motel room.  The car didn’t stop and continued traveling westbound on Briley Parkway.  Acting on a citizen’s tip, officers recovered the vehicle involved, a 2004 silver Pontiac Grand Prix, from a home in the 4000 block of Ames Drive.  The owner of the car has been identified.  An interview with him is pending.
The car was impounded by the police department and has been processed for evidence.
