September 23, 2013
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Officers tonight arrested former Donelson Christian Academy teacher David G. Turner on a 14-count grand jury indictment charging him with aggravated sexual battery against two minor students who were ages seven and eight.
Sex Crimes Unit Detective Jason Mayo began an investigation of Turner in February of this year after learning that the victims had disclosed to their parents that Turner had inappropriately touched them while they were in school. Turner was suspended from the school shortly after the police department’s investigation began.
Turner, 57, is being held in the Metro Jail in lieu of a $150,000 bond set by Criminal Court Judge Steve Dozier. He will be arraigned in the near future.
