Homelessness Commission Reveals Results of How's Nashville 100-Day Campaign

How's Nashville partners housed 189 people during its 100-day campaign, according to Will Connelly, director of the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission, who leads the community effort. In addition, 33 people were actively looking for apartments under the Section 8 Housing voucher program. A total of 40 people were issued Section 8 Housing vouchers under a new partnership between the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA). Seven of those vouchers were leased up at the end of the 100-day campaign.

How's Nashville  brings together service providers, landlords, government agencies, business owners, and faith-groups. How's Nashville partners announced on June 4 that they would set a goal of housing 200 people in 100 days. The results were announced in September at a Welcome Home Party held for recent residents and How's Nashville partners at the East Park Community Center.
