New Voice Dispatching Software Implemented

A text to voice software system has been implemented at the Metro Nashville Emergency Communications Center that will alert firefighters and medical crews needed for response to incidents.
Locution’s CAD Voice began dispatching Fire and EMS incidents at 6:00 a.m. on August 27, 2013 and has been very well received by both members of ECC and the Nashville Fire Department.
The system provides a clear, consistent voice to the responders and pronunciations are always exactly the same. Several thousands of street names and incident types were verified prior to the implementation of this program.
While this doesn’t remove the need for a dispatcher, they are given additional time to effectively manage other calls and requests for service.
