Convicted Burglar Robert Armstrong Back Behind Bars; Suspected in Multiple Break-Ins

Alert police work by Madison Precinct Officers Richard Gilbert and Jere Clark has landed convicted burglar Robert Armstrong, 43, back behind bars.
          
Officer Gilbert recognized a black Dodge pickup that Armstrong was driving as a suspect vehicle believed to be involved in area burglaries.  During an investigative stop, the officers recovered items taken during recent break-ins.  
          
Armstrong, 43, is presently charged with burglarizing a home on Dalemere Drive on September 19th and breaking into a Liberty Lane residence on September 14th.  Items taken in both burglaries included jewelry and prescription medication.
          
Armstrong is charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, possession of burglary tools, drug possession, driving on a revoked license and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He is being held in lieu of $109,000 bond.
          
Armstrong is a suspect in multiple additional break-ins in Davidson and surrounding counties.
          
Armstrong has six previous aggravated burglary convictions in Davidson County.  He has been convicted of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and burglary in Sumner County.
