Media Advisory: Metropolitan Action Commission to host Pre-Hire Event for Men
NASHVILLE, Tenn. –Twenty-five fathers from the Metropolitan Action Commission, Nashville OIC and Metro Health’s fatherhood program will participate in four intensive sessions that will prepare the men for seeking employment or advancement in current positions.
Sessions on effective networking skills, how to highlight your experience within a short period of time, appropriate interview attire and innovative approaches to applying for employment will be shared in a “speed geeking” format. This a term used for viewing a number of presentations within a fixed period of time. Also included will be general sessions on clearing up court matters and child support issues that may be a barrier to employment.
All men will be given a job kit complete with their resume and other employment search tools. Career clothing will also be available at no cost for the men.
