Metro Arts Expands Community Engagement Team!
Metro Arts is really excited about some staffing changes! On August 1, 2016, Olusola Tribble transitioned into a new role as Cultural Equity Coordinator—where she will continue her work with Race Equity in Arts Leadership (REAL) cohort, develop long range work at the intersection of arts and restorative justice with the Juvenile Court and other community partners and identify and align emerging community work focused on arts access and cultural equity. On August 29, we welcomed Lauren Fitzgerald to the Arts Commission team as our Neighborhood and Artist Development Coordinator. Lauren will head up our THRIVE program, our Arts Build Community grants partnership with the TN Arts Commission, Poetry In Motion® program and other direct programs that strengthen the relationships between artists and community development (sometimes called placemaking). Lauren is an actor, stage manager and works at the intersection of art practice and social justice. We are thrilled they are both calling our team home!
