Circuit Court Clerk Appoints New Chief Deputy


NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 20, 2016) - Circuit Court Clerk, Richard R. Rooker, named Joseph P. Day as his Chief Deputy of Public Relations and Employee Development effective October 1, 2016. Day started with the Circuit Court Clerk as a Deputy Clerk in 2001 and previously served as Business Operations Manager in the Traffic Violation Bureau.

“I am extremely excited for Joseph to bring his years of experience and leadership skills to this new position,” said Rooker. “He will spearhead a number of key initiatives and communicate pertinent information about the Circuit Court Clerk's office.”

Joseph Day headshotIn his new position, Day will represent the offices of the Circuit Court Clerk within the community and maintain quality working relationships with governmental, legal, business and professional organizations. He will also foster employee development programs for the organization and promote its various public information activities.

“I enjoy my role as a public servant and look forward to working with the citizens of Nashville and the legal community,” Day said. “The important thing is to bridge the gap with technology and make the office more transparent to the public. A sign of a great organization is the development and investment in its employees which leads to better service.”

Day graduated magna cum laude from Tennessee State University with a Business Administration degree and obtained his Master's degree in Public Service Management from Cumberland University. He continued his education by obtaining a Certified Public Administrator certification from the University of Tennessee.
