Officers Terrance McBride and Ky Luu were among the more than 80 police personnel and citizens who were honored by Chief Steve Anderson and Mayor Megan Barry during the MNPD’s Annual Awards Ceremony held at the Music City Center on April 5.  Officer McBride received the Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor given to a living member of the department, for his bravery last December when he was wounded by a shotgun blast fired by a New York parolee.  Officer Luu, who provided cover for Officer McBride so that he could get to safety, received the Meritorious Service Award.  After months of recovery, Officer McBride has been cleared to return to full duty.
