OEM to Offer Water

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 19, 2017) – With the extreme heat the rest of this week, Nashville OEM and their Emergency Support Unit volunteers will be out roaming across the city offering cold bottled water to those in the community that they encounter. Teams are expected to be out Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from approximately 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

The Nashville Rescue Mission, Room In The Inn and the Metro Homelessness Commission are among the agencies that conduct outreach to the homeless community. If anyone would like to make a bottled water donation, please contact the respective agency.

As a reminder, if you or someone you know does not have air conditioning, please suggest they go to an air conditioned building such as a relative's home, public library, community center, shopping facility or similar.

If anyone comes across someone that may be experiencing a heat related illness, such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke, please call 9-1-1 immediately for assistance.
