December 28, 2017
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Detectives now have names for the two men recorded by surveillance cameras and wanted for questioning in connection with last Thursday night’s targeted murder of Louis Lisi outside the Z-Mart convenience store at 26th Avenue North & Clarksville Pike.
Information from the community helped identify Mardeus Dewayne Phillips Jr., 24, and Jamil Toure Holloway, 23, who were in the store prior to the shooting and are believed to have information about the gunfire. Efforts to locate them have been unsuccessful thus far. Anyone knowing where they are is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward. Detectives are also asking for assistance in identifying a third person seen with Phillips and Holloway inside the market.
The investigation at present shows that Lisi, of Murfreesboro, was in a trailer outside the store and was reportedly operating a game of chance. William Fox, 64, of Nashville, was seated in a car near the trailer and was acting as security for Lisi. The two gunmen approached Lisi and Fox at 8:20 p.m. Thursday and opened fire. Lisi was fatally wounded and died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Fox was shot in the car. He was treated and released from Vanderbilt. The gunmen are believed to have had prior interaction with Lisi and Fox earlier in the evening.
