Crash Investigators Working to Identify Hit & Run Driver

Crash investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the hit and run driver who on January 13th struck and seriously injured Denise Lynn Leighton, 45, while she was walking southbound on the right shoulder of Gallatin Pike near Shepherd Hills Drive in Madison.
The preliminary investigation shows that Leighton was walking alongside the roadway at 8 p.m., out of the lanes of travel, toward a nearby bus stop when she was struck by an unknown vehicle, possibly white in color, which sustained some front end damage. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Leighton, of Wallace Road, is still recovering from serious injuries.
